Customer: Warwickshire County Cricket Club

Location: Edgbaston, Birmingham

Requirement: Warwickshire County Cricket Club is home to one of England's most successful cricket grounds. To maintain exceptional standards across the 15- acre site, the Club is undergoing major development work to modernise its older ticket and administration offices.  As a result, high-quality, temporary office facilities were sought to accommodate the administration staff and Club members.

Solution: The building contract was put to tender and soon after, the state-of-the-art Ultima building from Portakabin was chosen to provide over 280m2 of impressive office space. Portakabin were chosen as the preferred supplier to the Club, based on the superior quality and high specification of their buildings. Whilst being just as competitive as other tenders, Portakabin was also able to provide the design flexibility and the exceptional build quality that the Club was searching for.

Warwickshire CCC wanted to accommodate all their administration staff and customer-facing facilities under one roof. A spacious, high performance Ultima building was easily able to accommodate all users on one floor.  This meant that local planning restrictions on two-storey constructions did not impede upon the building's capacity.

The flexibility of the modular system also enabled Portakabin to overcome various on-site restrictions, such as the location of turnstiles at the front of the grounds and give the most effective use of space.

The offices offer high levels of comfort to staff and a spacious open-plan reception area welcomes visitors and members. Kitchen facilities are provided for staff refreshments and full male, female and disabled toilet facilities are included.

Portakabin also provided a complete one-stop-shop for the Club. This involved the preparation of all foundations and planning and building requirements. Portakabin also installed climate control, security systems, emergency lighting and bespoke access ramps.
