New Portaloo changing rooms get sporting projects up and running in days

Portaloo, the UK's leading supplier of relocatable restroom facilities, has proved its ahead of the game once again, with the launch of a new range of high quality Sports Changing Rooms.

As concerns about the nation's health and fitness continue to grow, these buildings will play a big part in helping to tackle issues such as rising obesity, as they enable new sporting projects to get up and running far more quickly than they would otherwise.

The new Portaloo Premium Changing Rooms provide smart, clean, spacious amenities, which can be installed and ready for use within days, possibly whilst permanent facilities are being developed.

In order to address the growing issue of obesity in the UK, the Government has introduced the Healthy Start initiative, which includes a £1.5bn investment in school sports, and has appointed Caroline Flint MP as Minister for Fitness. In addition, the Football Foundation and Sport England have been active in raising standards of facilities, publishing specific guidelines on changing room design and layout.  

John continued, ‘As a result of Government investment many new sporting projects are getting the funding they need to build the required facilities, but this can be a time consuming process. The changing rooms include domestic-style single compartment shower cubicles with folding doors, providing the same quality facilities as people would expect to find in their own homes. All showers are electric with integral shower heaters to ensure a constant supply of temperature-regulated hot water.

Each shower compartment includes its own changing area, providing complete privacy for individuals. This is in addition to bench seating in communal areas, which offers additional space for changing. Floor drains are also included to ensure that the buildings are always easy to clean, and no standing water is left in the building.
